Offensive Player of the Week
Vince Gallagher, Ursinus
(Sr., QB, Springfield, PA / St. Joseph's Prep) - Gallagher did it all in the Bears' 16-13 Homecoming win against Gettysburg.  He completed 21 of 30 passes for 289 yards and ran for two touchdowns, including the game-winner with 16.7 seconds left.  Gallagher was also named Homecoming King at halftime.

Defensive Player of the Week
Matt Hagel, Johns Hopkins
(Jr., LB, Linwood, NJ / Mainland HS) - Hagel led a Blue Jay defense that held Muhlenberg to just 158 total yards in the 13-10 win at Allentown.  He posted 11 tackles, including three for losses and 1.5 sacks, and added an interception and a pass breakup.

Special Teams Player of the Week
Arwin Gbolie, Dickinson
(Sr., KR, West Palm Beach, FL / Williston Northampton School) - Gbolie had a huge day in the Red Devils' 19-16 win vs. Franklin & Marshall with a pair of touchdowns.  He returned the opening kickoff 85 yards for a score and took a reverse 88 yards for another TD.  Gbolie ended the day with a CC season-best 245 all-purpose yards.

The Red Devils kept the "Conestoga Wagon Trophy" in Carlisle with a 19-16 win over Franklin & Marshall Š WR Arwin Gbolie (West Palm Beach, FL / Williston Northampton School) was the hero, scoring twice on plays of 80+ yards Š he returned the opening kickoff 88 yards for a touchdown - the first KOR for a score by a Dickinson player since Lou Cristinziani against Georgetown in 1991 Š Gbolie also took a reverse in the opening minutes of the third quarter and ran 88 yards to paydirt Š he ended the day with a CC season-best 245 all-purpose yards, while his 133 kickoff return yards set a school single-game record Š the Red Devils did not commit a turnover in the slop at Biddle Field, raising their turnover margin to +7 Š TE Ryan Stearrett (Wilmington, DE / St. Elizabeth) has a team-high 20 catches for 195 yards Š P Aren Johnson (Palmyra, PA / Lower Dauphin) has placed 15 of his 51 kicks inside the 20-yard line this season Š QB Matt Torchia (Kinnelon, NJ / Kinnelon) accounted for 183 total yards and scored on a 9-yard run Š Dickinson plays host to Hampden-Sydney for its Homecoming game Saturday.

Franklin & Marshall
The Diplomats fell to 2-5 with a 19-16 loss at Dickinson Š F&M rolled up 345 total yards on a sloppy field in Carlisle but committed four turnovers while recording no takeaways Š it is the sixth time in seven games that the Blue and White has committed at least four turnovers and the Diplomats' turnover margin stands at -5 Š QB Jeff Harner (Mohrsville, PA / Schuylkill Valley) had 250 yards of total offense, running for 64 and throwing for 186 more Š he tossed an 8-yard scoring pass to TE Matt Mondenedo (Silver Spring, MD / James Hubert Blake) and ran for a 4-yard TD Š Harner became just the 19th Centennial QB to reach the 4,000-yard passing plateau (4,005) Š PK Brandon Kline (Hummelstown, PA / Lower Dauphin) booted a career-best 38-yard field goal in the fourth quarter Š LB Chris Stepien (Fairfield, NJ / West Essex) leads the team with 63 tackles, including 14 for losses Š DB Ryan Sychterz (Sinking Spring, PA / Holy Name) has a team-leading three interceptions and seven pass breakups Š F&M is now 0-4 on the road this season and is 6-27 away from Lancaster since 1999Š the Diplomats continue their three-game road swing at McDaniel Saturday.

Gettysburg
The Bullets suffered their 10th consecutive road defeat as Ursinus dealt the Orange and Blue a 16-13 loss in Collegeville Š Gettysburg held a 13-3 third-quarter advantage on a 10-yard scoring pass from QB Hunter McMillan (Middletown, DE / Wilmington Friends) to WR Dusty Green (Idaville, PA / Bermudian Springs) and a 5-yard run from RB Tom Sturges (Ridgefield, CT / Ridgefield) Š Sturges carried 33 times for 92 yards in the rain to raise his season total to 873 yards - the most rushing yards by a Bullet back since Paul Smith '00 in 1999 (1,546) Š Green leads the team with 25 receptions for 276 yards Š McMillan became just the seventh Gettysburg QB to throw for over 1,000 yards in a season since 1979 (1,020) Š LB Harold Barton (Somerdale, NJ / Sterling) shared the team lead with nine tackles to raise his season total to 76 stops Š DE Stevenson Foote (Huntingtown, MD / Calvert) registered his first collegiate interception Š Gettysburg is outscoring its opponents, 36-14, in the third period but trails 83-44 in the fourth quarter Š the Bullets play host to Muhlenberg Saturday.

Johns Hopkins
The Blue Jays clinched at least a tie for the Centennial championship with a 13-10 win at Muhlenberg Š it was JHU's 11th straight win and ninth consecutive win on the road Š Hopkins is 7-0 for the second time in school history (2003) and is ranked 15th in D-III by the AFCA Š the Jays scored 10 fourth-quarter points to overcome a 10-3 deficit for the win Š QB Zach DiIonno (West Caldwell, NJ / James Caldwell) threw a 10-yard scoring pass to WR Anthony Triplin (Baltimore, MD / Gilman School)  to tie the score Š DiIonno became the fourth Blue Jay QB to throw for over 4,000 yards in a career (4,109), while Triplin is now fourth on the career reception list (143) Š PK Ben Scott (Pittsburgh, PA / Shady Side Academy) booted a 42-yard field goal with 9:53 remaining for the winning points Š it was his 28th career three-pointer, bringing him within one of Todd Bencivenni's school-record 29 field goals Š the defense held Muhlenberg to just 15 total yards on its last six possessions Š Hopkins is allowing just 91.1 rushing and 207.7 total yards per game, while surrendering just 6.3 points per contest Š the JHU seniors are now 35-5 - the most wins ever by a Hopkins class Š the Blue Jays close out their regular-season home schedule against Ursinus Saturday.

McDaniel
The Green Terror offense was held in check by Randolph-Macon in a 34-10 loss in Virginia Š McDaniel produced just 125 total yards vs. the Yellow Jackets in its worst regular-season defeat since a 38-7 loss to Franklin & Marshall in 1996 Š it is the Terror's first three-game regular-season losing streak since 1996 Š trailing 7-0, PK Jay Leonard (Westminster, MD / Westminster) booted his sixth field goal in two weeks - a 24-yarder - to close the deficit to 7-3 Š R-MC reeled off 27 unanswered points before RB Joe Taylor (Westminster, MD / Winters Mill) scored on a 41-yard run with :17 remaining Š the injuries continue to pile up for the Green and Gold, as QB Tom Wenrich (Wernersville, PA / Conrad Weiser) left the game in the 2nd quarter with a shoulder injury Š DB Eric See (Strasburg, PA / Lampeter-Strasburg) picked off his first career pass Š LB Ron Ringgold (Aberdeen, MD / Aberdeen) had his second straight 20+ tackle performance, making 21 stops vs. R-MC Š McDaniel entertains Franklin & Marshall for Homecoming on Saturday.

Muhlenberg
The Mules' hopes for a fifth straight CC title suffered a major blow with a 13-10 home loss to Johns Hopkins Š Muhlenberg held a 10-3 lead entering the final period but surrendered 10 points in a four-minute span to fall to 3-4 Š it is the first time that 'Berg has lost four regular-season games since 1999 Š QB Matt Johnson (Mountville, PA / Lancaster Catholic) threw for 141 yards, including a 14-yard TD pass to WR Kyle Douglass (Wyncote, PA / Cheltenham) Š Johnson is the only CC starter with more TD passes (5) than interceptions (2) Š Douglass caught four balls for 56 yards to raise his season total to 31-476Š PK Jordon Grube (New Tripoli, PA / Northwestern Lehigh) booted a 20-yard field goal for the Mules' other points Š the defense held 15th ranked Hopkins to just 225 total yards Š LB Mark Bennett (Fair Lawn, NJ / Fair Lawn) led the way with 12 tackles and a forced fumble Š LB Dan McCall (Northfield, NJ / Mainland Regional) made more big plays with eight stops, a pass deflection and an interception which he returned 44 yards Š McCall has returned four fumbles for 127 yards as well in 2005 Š DB Justin Adair (Morristown, NJ / Morristown) also had a pick and a breakup Š Muhlenberg travels to Gettysburg on Saturday in its road finale.

Ursinus
The Bears ended their 20-game Centennial losing streak in dramatic fashion as QB Vince Gallagher (Folsom, PA / St. Joseph's Prep) scored on a 7-yard run with 16.7 seconds remaining to defeat Gettysburg, 16-13, before a soggy Homecoming Day crowd Š Gallagher's run capped a 10-play, 48-yard drive in the final three minutes for his second TD of the fourth quarter Š he completed 20 of 31 passes for 289 yards, moving into 15th place on the career CC list with 4,222 yards Š Gallagher was also named Homecoming King at halftime Š WR Brandon Evans (Mohnton, PA / Gov. Mifflin) had the best day of his career with four catches for 94 yards, while WR James Sproule (Schuylkill Haven, PA / Blue Mountain) had five receptions for 63 yards Š Evans received the Kenneth E. Walker Memorial Trophy as the Ursinus MVP in the Homecoming game Š LB Brian Hrynczyszyn (Bensalem, PA / Conwell-Egan) had a team-high 14 tackles and recovered a fumble Š he leads the Bears with 69 tackles, while DB Adam Schmidt (Palmyra, PA / Conrad Weiser) has a team-best six sacks Š Schmidt became the school's all-time leader in kickoff return yards (1,355), surpassing Bill Sedgwick '93 Š all seven Ursinus games this season have been decided by eight or fewer points with the three victories coming by a combined five points Š the Bears travel to Johns Hopkins on Saturday.


STREAKING: Johns Hopkins' 11-game win streak is the fourth longest in Division III.  The Blue Jays' magic number for clinching the Centennial title outright is one - one JHU win vs. Ursinus or McDaniel or one loss by F&M and Gettysburg.
