ELLIOTT EARNS CONFERENCE FIELD HOCKEY PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Elliott Scores Four Goals on Six Shots on the Week
SALISBURY, Md. * Salisbury field hockey's Brittany Elliott (Delmar, DE/Delmar)
earned the CAC field hockey Player of the Week for the week ending October 30,
the conference announced Monday. This is her second such recognition and the
third time a Sea Gull has been named. Teammate Lynette Sgrignoli (Enola, PA/East
Pennsboro) earned the recognition on October 10.
In the only game last week, Elliott dominated the Eagles of Mary Washington,
leading Salisbury in a 7-0 rout. She scored four goals consecutively against the
Eagles on six shots to make a tight 1-0 game into a 5-0 rout.
Elliott finished the regular season as Salisbury's top scorer, finishing the
season with 21 goals and 10 assists, good for 52 points. She also finished
second in the nation in scoring behind Babson's Elise Conley, who scored 66
points (28 goals, 10 assists). Elliott led the nation in points per game,
finishing with a 3.25 average.
Honorable mentions included: Goucher's Jen Madera; Mary Washington's Jena
Elliott; St. Mary's Amy Skrickus; and York's Rachel Hilt.
Elliott and the number one seeded Sea Gulls look to advance in the CAC
Tournament today, as they face the fourth seeded Eagles at the SU Athletic
Complex at 3:00 p.m.
