WESTMINSTER, Md. -- Dani Unflat and Caitlin Potter each tallied a pair of goals
as McDaniel College (9-5, 5-3) blanked Johns Hopkins (9-7, 6-3) 4-0 in
Centennial Conference field hockey on Wednesday.
Set up by Brooke Dixon, Potter netted the game winner late in the first half.
Unflat scored the first of her back-to-back goals 48 seconds later to give the
Terror a 2-0 lead heading into the half. The Terror did the rest of its dirty
work in the opening seven minutes of the second half.
McDaniel’s Erika Wawzyanick recorded 10 saves for her third shutout of the
season. Dayna Eng came up with 7 saves in the Jays’ net.
McDaniel returns to action at Haverford on Thursday before closing out the
regular season with Bryn Mawr on Saturday. Those games will help sort out the
five way log jam for the final three spots in the Centennial’s championship
tournament.
