Christina Kirby was the winning pitcher for Caesar Rodney Freshman Alishya Paige pitched for Caravel Jamie Brittingham makes a diving catch from her shortstop position early in the game.
Lindsay Long, one of the fastest players in the state, gets caught stealing.... ...by Cat Ansbach who neutralized the Buccaneers speed in the game. Jamie Brittingham strikes out with the bases loaded, but the dropped third strike allowed a Rider runner to score.
Elizabeth Palmer slides safely into third as the ball skips by Long covering the bag. That allowed Palmer to score the 4th, and decisive run of the game. Sarah Reeves hit a 6th inning bomb to drive in a run, but she represented the tying run and couldn't make it home to score.

Ansbach and Kirby raise the Riders first-ever state championship softball trophy
