Andrea Fleming Named First-Team All-Region; Kara Culkin Second-Team

LYNCHBURG , VA – Lynchburg College ’s Andrea Fleming ( Milford , DE / Milford ) was named to the first-team 2005 All-South Region Field Hockey squad Monday while Kara Culkin ( Gloucester , VA / Gloucester ) earned a spot on the second team.

Fleming, a first-team All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) selection last week, led the conference in both points (54) and goals (24). As of November 14, the senior attack ranked third in Division III in goals and fifth in points.

Culkin, also a senior attack that earned first-team All-ODAC honors, was tied for the team lead with 10 assists. She was third on the team in both goals (9) and points (28).

Lynchburg finished the season 15-7 overall and earned a berth to the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament. The Hornets won 13-straight games towards the end of the campaign.
