Zoë Mooney-Doyle from Wilmington Friends broke a 22-year-old Quaker school record at the 2024 DISC Championships. Mooney-Doyle finished the girls’ 5k with a time of 19:59.52.























Jacob Hick from Delaware Military Academy committed to attend Eastern University in PA where he will join the Baseball program.










Delmar beat Cape Henlopen 2-1 to win the overall Henlopen Conference Field Hockey Championship. All three goals came in the 3rd quarter. Alysa McCarthy started the scoring for Cape. Jordyn Hollamon tied it with her 54th goal of the season and Kadence Melvin scored what would be the game-winner with 5 minutes left in the period. This was 7th straight Henlopen Conference Championship for the Wildcats.

Wilmington Friends beat Mt. Pleasant 38-13. Ryan Tattersall threw for 238 yards and 4 touchdowns for the Quakers who are 4-4, 2-1. The Green Knights are 4-4, 1-2 both teams in 2A2

Tatnall stays undefeated at 8-0 as they beat St. Elizabeth's 44-6. Gino Greer rushed ten times for 143 yards and two touchdowns for the Hornets.

Sussex Central beat Dover 55-30 in a 3A2 game. Malik Bell rushed for 222 yards on 15 carries with 3 touchdowns. The Golden Knights are 7-1, 3-0. Dover is 2-5, 1-2.

Indian River scored 54 first-half points and cruised to a 60-0 win over St. Andrews. Jayvion Chandler rushed for 2 touchdowns on 139 ground yards. The Indians 7-1, 5-0 in 1A2.

Sussex Tech beat Milford 34-28 throwing the ball only time all game. Kyle Thompson rushed 22 times for 226 yards and 3 touchdowns and Isaiah Jones ran 20 times for 131 yards and 2 touchdowns. The Ravens are 5-3, 1-2 in 2A3 and Milford is 4-4, 0-3.

Red Lion rolled over Delcastle 35-0. Evan Budinger threw for 260 yards and 4 touchdowns for the Lions in this 2A1 game. They are 6-2, 3-0. The Cougars are 2-6, 0-3.

Polytech beat Seaford 28-7 in 1A2. Noah Walker rushed 20 times for 158 yards and three touchdowns. The Panthers are 7-1, 4-1. Seaford is 2-6, 1-4.

Volleyball

Appoquinimink beat Mt. Pleasant in 4 sets to end the regular season as the Flight A Champs with an 11-4 record. Gianna Folke had 17 kills for the Jaguars. Brooke Parkinson had 35 assists.








Newark Charter and Wilmington Friends played 4 sets with the Patriots coming out on top. Kennedy Pavlekovich led NCS with 17 kills. They await tournament seedings with their 11-4 record. The Quakers are 9-5
