Sussex Central's Josh Negron has signed a letter of intent to attend and wrestle for Castleton University in Vermont. Negron is a Delaware State Wrestling Champion.





Tatnall's Andre Latina has signed his NLI to run cross country and track for Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY.





Tatnall's Nic Pizarro, from the cross country and track teams, is headed to the University of Pennsylvania to continue his studies and his athletic endeavors.




Congratulations to DMA's Declan Kirby who signed his commitment letter to attend i2i Academy at York St. John’s University in York, England.





Tatnall's Andrew Scott has committed to playing baseball at Cabrini University at the Division III level





Tatnall's Nasir Obey has committed to playing men’s lacrosse at Washington College in Maryland at the Division III level





Tatnall's Teryn Singer became the first lacrosse player for the Girl's Lacrosse team to reach the 200-career goal mark.





Caesar Rodney's Elle Davis is headed to Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia and will play soccer for the Rams.






Caesar Rodney's Madelyn Reed will head to Kentucky's Bellarmine University to play soccer and learn more stuff.





Polytech High runner Matt Gatune swept the individual distance events at the Henlopen Conference track & field championships. The senior won the 800, 1,600 and 3,2000 meters at the two-day meet. Gatune not only successfully defended his three event wins from a year ago, but he set Henlopen records in both the 3200 with a 9:17 and the 1600 with a 4:19.92. His 1:55.37 in the 800 ranks No. 2 on the Henlopen meet record list as well.





Smyrna High’s Brooke Duke finished fourth or better in four events at the Henlopen Conference track & field championships. The junior won the high jump, took second in the 100 hurdles, was third in the pole vault and fourth in the triple jump.





Caesar Rodney High tennis player Darin Jawahar won the boys’ first-singles title in the Henlopen Conference Tournament on Monday. The senior dropped only two sets all season — both in a season-opening loss to Wilmington Charter.






Delaware State's head baseball coach, J.P. Blandin has been named the 2022 MEAC Coach of the Year.



Girl's Softball State Tournament


Madelyn Pritchard and Madison Fuller combined to throw a no-hitter against Brandywine for William Penn in the first round of the tournament. The Colonials are the #9 seed and they advance to play Caesar Rodney in the second round.






Ashlyn Tapman threw a no-hitter for #17 Delmar against #16 Concord in an 11-0 win for the Wildcats. They advance to take on #1 Caravel in round 2.






Boy's Volleyball



The 5th seeded Indians of Indian River upset the previously unbeaten Salesianum boy's volleyball team in the semi-final round of the Delaware Boy's Volleyball Championship.

They will take on the defending champions from Delaware Military Academy who had to hold off a come-from-behind rally attempt by the Force of Wilmington Charter. The Seawawks won the first two sets and the Force won the 3rd and 4th. DMA wins set five 15-12. All sets were close.

The championship match will take place at Smyrna HS on May 19th at 6:30. Tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for children at the door.






Maddie Schepers from the St. Marks Spartans soccer team scored her 100th career goal this week. Her 100th came in a 3-goal effort against Appoquinimink.
