Lucy Rawlings from Laurel has signed an NLI to play field hockey for Limestone University in South Carolina





Isabella Tesche from Ursuline Academy has signed an NLI to attend Sacred Heart University in PA and play lacrosse.





Bri Gautier from Tatnall is going to attend Cabrini University in PA where she will play volleyball and basketball.






Nate Chandler from Smyrna is heading to Sacred Heart where he will play for the football team.







Giada MacNamara breaks her own DMA indoor shot put record with a toss of 32-1.5 which bests her top throw of last year, 29-1






Ethan Walther breaks his own DMA indoor 800m school record with a blazing 2:02.14 to open up the season






St. Andrews track athletes have already set three new school records.







Sussex Tech Ravens Karli Penrod (Umass-Lowell) and Ava Andrews (Converse University)

will continue their field hockey careers at the college level.






Middletown's Joshua Roberson has committed to attend Stone Hill College in Massachusetts where he will play for the football team.





Ava Kramp from Wilmington Christian has committed to join the field hockey program at Houghton University in NY where she will become a Highlander.





Congratulations to Wilmington University's Justin Thomas and Daja Claiborne for being named this week's CACC Players of the Week in Basketball. Justin averaged 17.5 pts and 5.0 rebs in two games last week while Daja averaged 8.0 pts and 6.0 rebs in two games as well





Jameer Nelson from the U of DE's basketball team recorded his 1000th collegiate point. He had 380 with George Washington and now 620 for the Fightin Blue Hens.





Jyáre Davis was the CAA Co-Player of the Week last week for Delaware. He averaged a team-best 19.5 points per game, adding 5.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 2.5 steals, and 1.5 blocks in two games against Cornell and Davidson.





At the Ursinus HS Invitational this weekend some RedWolves set new standards for the Indoor Track &N Field team.

1st place Girls 400m: Alyssa Napier (school record 60.67) 4th place Girls Distance Medley Relay: Mallory Holloway, Emily Hartnett, Alyssa Napier, Jordan Blanck (school record 13:35.06) 8th place Girls Shot Put: Kayla Williams (school record 30-2.75) School record Boys 55m: Andrew Cox 7.00



The Smyrna Eagles won the Class 3A Championship beating Dover 52-7. This was the 4th championship for head coach Mike Judy. It was Dover first appearance in a Championship game since 2001. They were looking for their third overall title.




Senior Markell Holman led the Eagles with 113 yards rushing and two touchdowns. Yamir Knight rushed for 2 touchdowns also but completed one pass for a 27-yard touchdown also.





The Quakers of Wilmington Friends School won their first championship since 1984 capturing the Class 2A crown with a 10-7 over Caravel Academy. Caravel scored their touchdown in the 4th quarter which meant that Alessio Cristanetti-Walker's 32-yard field goal in the second quarter proved to be the game-winner. Quaker QB Robbie Tattersall rushed for 117 yards and threw a touchdown pass to Ishmael Dobson for their only touchdown of the game. This was the Quakers second appearance in a championship game with their first in 2016 and they capped off an undefeated season for 2022.






The Laurel Bulldogs defended their Class 1A championship beating St. Elizabeth's 28-13. Four different Bulldogs scored touchdowns in the game. This was Laurel's 5th overall football championship in their school's history. They completed an undefeated season on the football field at 13-0. The 28 points were the fewest amount they scored all year. Up to that point, they had scored at least 40 points in every game except on opening day when they scored 31 against Sussex Tech.
