The #1 seed, Caravel Academy, advanced to the semifinal round with a 50-40 win over Woodbridge.

Freshman Abigail Grillo scored a team high 14 points to lead visiting #6 Ursuline Academy past #3 Charter School of Wilmington. Hannah Kelley (Jr.) and Ella Gordon (Sr.) added 12 points each for the Raiders.

Emma Brown led Charter with 18 points and closed her career with 1,000 points.

#2 Sanford over #10 Cape Henlopen 53-27. Azareya Kilgoe led the Warriors, and all scorers with 16 points.

Emma Kirby led the Hornets of Tatnall with 17 points and a trip to the Bob Carpenter Center as the #5 seed beats the 4th seeded Vikings of St. Elizabeth.





Caravel will take on Tatnall and Sanford will play Ursuline in the semifinal round of the DIAA Girl's State Basketball Championship.

Delaware State sophomore pitcher Evan Harris has been named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Pitcher of the Week as announced by the league earlier this afternoon.


Harris threw six no-hit innings that led to a Hornets' 1-0 win over Lehigh University this past Friday. During his six innings, Harris struck out six and only surrendered three walks in route to his first win of the season.

Seaford High basketball player Brent Ricketts helped the Blue Jays reach the DIAA state semifinals for the first time since 1997. The junior scored a total of 62 points in three state tournament games for the Blue Jays.

Woodbridge High basketball player Payton Keeler helped the Blue Raiders advance to the DIAA state quarterfinals. The junior guard scored 30 points, 15 rebounds and nine steals in a pair of state tournament victories.

Cape Henlopen High basketball player Mehkia Applewhite was a big reason the Vikings made it to the DIAA state quarterfinals. In two games she scored 35 points, 13 rebounds, 14 steals and eight assists.

Five different Wilmington Wildcats were named CACC Players of the Week. Quintin Ivy (Co-Player) and Ryan Sandberg (Pitcher) from the baseball team, Campbell Heller (Rookie) and Katie Vindigni (Goalkeeper) from the Women's Lacrosse Team, and Lexi Moore (Player) from the softball team.
