Delaware Milestones 2022-2023 Part 1




Congratulations to Sussex Central's John Wells, the head football coach, for his 200th career win at the helm for the Golden Knights. The victory came against Hodgson Vo Tech.










Tower Hill's Chris Aitken has picked up his 100th career coaching win for the Hillers Boy's Soccer program. It came in a 6-1 victory over MOT Charter.





Delmar's Maci Bradford scored 7 goals for the Wildcats in a 12-0 win over Milford. The 7 goals places her 4th on NFHS top ten list for most goals scored in a game. She is tied with another Delawarean who performed this feat in 2021, Aeschelle Malazarte from MOT Charter







Logan Sweeney is an 8th grader running on the Caravel Academy Varsity Cross Country team this season. He broke the Caravel 8th grade record on Tuesday, September 13th with a time of 19:59. Then on Friday, September 16th, he broke that record with the time of 19:50.






Congratulations to Bill DiNardo, the Salesianum head football coach, for winning his 300th career game. 150 of these were with Salesianum and the other 150 with Caravel and Middletown. DiNardo has helped guide teams to 7 state championships, 3 with Middletown and 4 with Salesianum








Congratulations to Alessio Cristanetti-Walker who scored his 50th career goal in a game against Sanford which the Quakers won 8-1.








Tower Hill's Tommy Vanni scored the 50th career goal of his soccer career for the Hillers. His milestone goal came against Wilmington Friends





Tessa Kwiatkowski from the Delmarva Christian volleyball team recorded her 1000th career assist for the Royals








Julia Yurkovich recorded her 750th career kill for the St. Marks Spartan volleyball team. It came in a match against Appoquinimink.







DE - Marie Brainard scored her 50th career goal for the Wilmington Charter field hockey team. She set a new school record with the goal which came in a pair she scored in a 2-1 against St. Marks.






Tatnall's Rachael Whitehead recently scored the 50th career goal for the Hornet Field Hockey team.





Kimberly Seeney from Polytech High school celebrated 1000 assists in her High School Volleyball career on on 10/20/22.






Julia Yurkovich, from the St. Marks Spartans volleyball team, recorded the 800th career kill for her career.





The University of Delaware's Lani Mason recorded her 1000th career kill for the Fightin Blue Hen volleyball team. The 1000th kill came in a 27 kill-effort against UNCW.







Jonathan Daniel from MOT Charter scored the 60th career goal recently. He is the all-time leader in goals scored for the Mustang's Boy's Soccer team.









In a win against Mt. Pleasant, Wilmington Friends Field Hockey star, Madeline Rowland scored three goals and added one assist. This effort allowed her to reach, and surpass, the 100-point mark for her career as a Quaker.







Indian Rivers Camryn Ehlers surpassed the 1000-assist mark for her career as the setter on the Indians volleyball team. She is the all-time leader for the school's program in assists.







Lucy Kingham from Concord celebrated her 750th assist for the Raider volleyball team. The Raiders were the Blue Hen Flight B champions this year. In the heart in the background are Lucy's parents.
















Sanford's Audrey Everett recorded her 500th career save as goalie for the Warriors Field Hockey team.



















Giada MacNamara breaks her own DMA indoor shot put record with a toss of 32-1.5 which bests her top throw of last year, 29-1





Ethan Walther breaks his own DMA indoor 800m school record with a blazing 2:02.14 to open up the season





Jameer Nelson from the U of DE's basketball team recorded his 1000th collegiate point. He had 380 with George Washington and now 620 for the Fightin Blue Hens.







DMA's Ethan Walther sets a new school record in the mile with a time of 4:29.57 to secure a thrilling win at the Ursinus HS Invitational.





The relay team of Madelyn Mead, Julianna Balon, Sophia Holdgado, and Molly Flanagan broke a three plus decades old school record in the 4x400m relay at the Bishop Loughlin Games. Their time of 4:01.56 ranked them #6 in the country at this time for indoor season.







At Ocean Breeze Park the DMA boys 4x800m relay consisting of Ethan Walther, Aidan Leary, Ethan Barnett and Troy Hedrick ran 8:37 to break the previous school record of 8:53 from 2015.






The DMA girls Sprint Medley Relay of Kendal Reid (400m: 71) Maame Manu (200m: 27), Ava Amato (200m: 28) and Ashley Hughes (800m: 2:39) secure a new school record with a time of 4:47.01 at the Ocean Breeze Holiday Festival.





Eric Cureton breaks the DMA year old 55m school record with a time of 6.73 in the Varsity 55m Red Section at the Ocean Breeze Holiday Festival.






DMA's Carlos Mackall broke the Seahawks school record in the Long Jump at the Ursinus Invitational with a jump of 20-2.





Tyler August, from Delaware Military Academy, recorded his 100th career win on the wrestling mat in a match in the Conestoga Valley Holiday Tournament in PA.







There are new records to celebrate for the Concord Girl's Swimming team. Congratulations to Emily Lynch, Abby Rhodunda, Rylee Waslyn, Elizabeth Merlo for breaking the 200 Medley Relay with a time of 1:51.91. Elizabeth Merlo, Abby Rhodunda, Emily Lynch, Rylee Waslyn also broke the 400 Freestyle Relay record for Concord with a time of 3:47.38. Additionally, Rylee Waslyn broke her own 200 IM record with a time of 2:06.41






Danny Williams from Delaware Military Academy picked up his 100th career victory on the wrestling mat during the Conestoga Valley Holiday Tournament.




2023




Tatnall's Alexis Tarlue set a new school record in the 55 meter hurdles with a time of 8.98, which is fastest in the state this year. She is a Junior Hornet.





Rahshan Lamons broke a Tatnall Indoor Track record in the 55 Meter Dash at the Armory. His time was 6.62, second fastest in the state so far this year. He is also a Junior






Mallory Holloway, Alyssa Napier, Karen Tanner, and Jordan Blanck placed 3rd in the Ocean Breeze Holiday Festival on December 27th. The finish was a school record in the event, but also a Delaware #1 time and a US #11 time.








Alyssa Napier, finished 5th Overall (400M) in the Ocean Breeze Holiday Festival on Dec 27th. This was a School Record finish as well as the #1 DE time.







Delaware Military Academy senior wrestler Drew Simpson won his 100th career match for the Seahawks. The win came at the Delcastle tournament this weekend where DMA finished second overall as a team. This is the third Seahawk to reach this milestone this year.






Isaiah Turman from Wilmington Friends broke the Quakers school record in the Triple Jump at the Ocean Breeze Games in NY. The new record is 41 feet one half inch. That broke his own record set in December



Ellie Criscimagna ran a 3:35.19 in the 1000-meter run at Ocean Breeze to set a new school record for the Quakers in that event.






Jack McKelvey also broke the 1000-meter run school record for Friends. His new record is 3:09.79




Declan Grubb set a new Quaker record in the 600-meter run with a time of 1:39.52





At the Alvernia University Golden Wolves High School Challenge, the Conrad Girl's 4x200 Relay team set a new school record of 2:03.39. The record setting team consisted of Alyssa Napier, Julia Abbott, Kayla Williams, and Safiya Stewart.





Danny Sinclair from William Penn recorded his 100th career win for the Colonials wrestling team.






Gabrielle Paolella, an Ursuline senior from the Indoor Track & Field team, won the girls shot put at the Ocean Breeze Holiday Festival in Staten Island, N.Y., with a school-record toss of 39 feet, 9¼ inches.




The Padua 4x400 relay team of Madelyn Mead, Sophia Holgado, Juliana Balon, and Molly Flanagan broke the Delaware state indoor record at the Virginia Beach Showcase. The new record is 3:57.66. It was the 4th best time in the US this year.




Salesianum posted a 4x200m relay time of 1:29.78, breaking the State Record. This time currently ranks them #9 in the country according. The relay team was composed of Senior George Mackin, Junior Jasyn Truitt, Senior Vinny DelliCompagni, and junior Bishop Lane.





Sophomore Carson Kalish set a new Sanford school swimming record in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 55.72. The swim came against Wilmington Friends in a meet where he was also part of a new school record in the 400 Free Relay with teammates Brady Bollman, Braden Powell, and Michael Hoban. Their new record is 3:24.90




Tatnall's Emma Kirby reached the 1000-point milestone for her basketball career with the Hornets. The points came against conference rival Tower Hill. She is headed to Millersville next year.







The DMA 4x800 team of Ethan Barnett, Chase Jones, Aidan Leary and Troy Hedrick broke the school record in the event set earlier this winter by .1 of a second at The Armory in the Bronx.





DMA's Ethan Walther's 2:38 in the 1000-meter run was a new school record in the event at The Armory.




Ursuline's Clare Kornacki broke her own school record in the 3000-meter run at The Armory. Her new record is 10:46






Conrad's Kayla Williams set an indoor school record in the shot put at the Tower Hill Invitational. The new RedWolves record is now 32-1.25






Ellie Criscimagna from Wilmington Friends broke the school record in the indoor 1600 meter run with a time of 5:47.67 at the Tower Hill Invitational.





Wilmington Friends Sawyer Rowland broke the school record in the indoor 400 meter run with a time of 1:06.64 at the Tower Hill Invitational.






Congratulations to Wilmington Wildcat head men's basketball Dan Burke for earning his 100th career coaching victory. He is the program's all-time leader in wins and the first to reach the milestone.





Ryan Baker broke a 45-year old Cape Henlopen record in the indoor 1600-meter run. Heran the eight-lap mile race in 4:25.53, finishing 18th at the U.S. Army Officials Hall of Fame Invitational at the Armory in New York.
