The University of Delaware's Field Hockey team won the CAA Championship for 2024. They will take on Fairfield in the first round of the NCAA Division 1 National Championship Tournament.










The Delmar Wildcats won their 9th consecutive D2 Field Hockey State Championship beating Wilmington Friends 4-3 in the final game. Jordyn Hollamon started the scoring for the Wildcats with two first-quarter goals, one on a penalty stroke. Ella Fontanazza scored the next two for Friends to tie the game. Hollamon scored a go-ahead goal in the third. Sawyer Rowland tied the game at 3 in the 4th. But Laela Brown came up with the game-winning goal with about 3 minutes left in the game.













Cape Henlopen and Smyrna met for the third year in a row in the D1 Championship. The Vikings were victorious for the second straight time this year winning 2-1. Emily Wells scored on a penalty stroke at the end of the first half. Freshman Teagan Baker scored an insurance goal in the third. Addison Beamer scored for the Eagles to pull them within one but the defenses clamped down from there and the Vikings are State Champions for 2024.

Caravel beat Red Lion 48-7. Judah Barber rushed for 112 yards for the Bucs. They end the regular season 10-0 in 2A1.

Tatnall clinched the 1A1 title and an unbeaten regular season with a 42-18 win over Christiana. Quinn deViere threw for 344 yards and 6 touchdowns for the Hornets. Jude Maycole caught 4 of them for 120 yards. Chris Gordon had 6 catches for 2 touchdowns and 157 yards.

Indian River wins 1A2 with their 9-1 record. They beat First State Military 41-13 in the last game of the season. Darnell Stokes had 5 carries for 135 yards and one touchdown. Davon Handy had 18 carries for 108 yards.

Smyrna beat Sussex Central 30-26 in this 3A2 game. Smyna earns the #2 seed in the state tournament with their 5-5, 4-1 mark. Sussex Central ends up 8-2, 4-1 and picks up the #4 seed in the event. Kahmaj Kearney rushed for 4 touchdowns for the Eagles.

Odessa beat Mt. Pleasant 26-22. Both teams will miss the playoffs this year. Chase Belin had 16 carries fore 117 yards and 2 touchdowns for the Ducks.

Salesianum won big over St. Marks 63-17. Brady McBride threw for 207 yards and three touchdowns and ran 8 times for 101 yards and a TD. The Sals end the regular season 9-1, unbeaten instate.

Howard won their last 7 games of the year after starting 0-3 to capture the 2A2 title. They beat Tower Hill 44-0 in their final regular season game. Amir Maddrey rushed for 206 yards and 4 touchdowns for the Wildcats as he also broke the 1000-yard mark for rushing this season.
