St. Elizabeth's HS honored field hockey player Alyssa Pope as their Athlete of the Week. Finding themselves without a goalie for a recent contest, Alyssa stepped up to take on the new position for the first time and didn't allow a goal in her appearance.

Division 1 State Tournament Quarterfinal Round



Dru Moffett and Ryla Wilbur each had two goals and one assists as #3 Smyrna blanks #6 Appoquinimink 7-0. The Eagles outshot the Jaguars 19-2.





#2 Wilmington Charter beats #7 Padua 3-0. Tess Gatti scored two times for the Force. Shots were 6-5 in favor of the advancing Force who will take on Smyrna on Tuesday at the DE Turf Complex at 7pm.







Reagan Ciabattoni scored a hat trick and had an assist as #1 Cape rolls over #8 Dover 9-0. Her first two goals were penalty strokes. Noelle Sabbagh had two goals and two assists and Kelly Bragg scored twice. The Vikings had 29 shots and the defense held the Senators without one.



#5 Polytech beats #4 Sussex Tech 2-1. The Panthers advance to play Cape Henlopen on Tuesday at the DE Turf Complex at 5pm.

Volleyball



#2 Padua advances to the State Volleyball Championship avenging a regular-season win against Wilmington Friends in the semi-final round last night in 3 sets. Meghan Peters led a balanced Panda attack with 13 kills. Aubrey Lyons had 31 assists. Abby Carian led the Quakers with 13 kills.





#1 St. Marks will look to repeat as State Champions as they will be the team to take on Padua in the finals on Monday. They won in straight sets behind the right arm of Julia Yurkovich, who had 15 kills. Mya Lewis led the Spartans with 16 assists. She also had 9 kills and 12 digs.
