Newark Charter's Isabel Esenyan recorded her 1000th career assist for the Patriots volleyball team in the 3rd place match against Wilmington Friends on Monday night. The team took time to honor her with this banner she is holding in this shot.

Field Hockey

The top seeded Vikings of Cape Henlopen swoosh into the championship final game this coming Saturday with an 8-1 win over Polytech. Reagan Ciabattoni had a goal and three assists to lead the team. Samantha Connors had a goal and an assist as did Noelle Sabbagh.

The Vikings will play #3 Smyrna at 1130 am at Dover High School for the Division 1 State Championship. The Eagles beat #2 Charter 3-1.

The Division 2 semifinals will be today at 5 and 7 at the DE Turf Complex. Delmar will take on Sussex Academy and Archmere will play Newark Charter.

Boy's Soccer

Tebar Gomez assisted on three of Caesar Rodney's goals as the undefeated Riders advance to the D1 championship final with a 4-1 win over Sussex Central. Freshman Trevor Sullivan had a goal and an assist in the victory.

Salesianum comes from behind to beat Appoquinimink 2-1 to set up the championship final against the Riders. Jake Ross scored the tying goal at the 58 minute mark in the second half on an assist from Reese Peddrick and the go-ahead, and game-winning goal, at 74 minutes. Noah Holgado assisted on that one.

The Division 2 semifinals will be today. They pit Newark Charter against St. Andrews and Caravel will play Delmar.
