Lake Forest's Emma Massey has committed to attend Hood College in Frederick, Maryland, where she will join the Field Hockey team.




Alexis Parkinson, from Appoquinimink, reached the 1000 assist mark for her career with the Jaguars Volleyball team.





Boy's Soccer



Wilmington Charter beat Middletown 7-0. The Force end their season 13-2 losing only to Salesianum and Delcastle. Michael Capreto scored three goals for the Force. They now await the seeding of the Division 1 State Tournament.

Suyash Singh scored in overtime for Caravel as the Bucs beat Appoquinimink 2-1. The Bucs end the regular season 9-5-1. The Jaguars are 8-5-2. A few more teams are invited to the D2 tournament. Appoquimink, in Division 1, will rely on their strength of schedule to be one of the 8 teams to make it.

Division 2 Field Hockey Tournament - First Round


Rilyn Lehman scored three goals and added an assist as the Sussex Academy Seahawks, the #7 seed, beat Concord, #11, 11-1. Shelby Manlove and Callie Short each scored twice. The Seahawks advance to play #2, Delmar on Saturday at 11am. In their regular season meeting, Delmar beat Sussex Academy 9-0.

Wilmington Friends beat Tatnall 2-1. Sophomore Sara Clothier scored the game winning goal in the 4th quarter at the 13:30 mark of the game. Ella Fontanazza assisted on both goals for the Quakers. There were only 7 total shots on goal between the two teams. The Quakers will take on #4 St. Marks in the quarterfinal round.

Archmere Academy beat Delaware Military Academy 6-1. Junior Maura Read scored three goals for the Auks. She has scored 3 goals in a game in 4 of the last 5 games Archmere has played. Carly Polsky scored two times and assisted on another. The #6 Auks will play #3 Caravel on Saturday. The Buccaneers won a regular season game against them 3-2 in the middle of the year.

#9 Lake Forest beat #8 Tower Hill 3-1. The Spartans will advance to take on the #1 seed, the Newark Charter Patriots on Saturday. For Lake Forest, Emma Massey, Brynn String, and Kyra Moyer scored goals.

Delaware Girl's Volleyball State Tournament Round 1



#10 Dover swept #23 Conrad in straight sets. Sophomore Jasmin Hallum had 41 assists for the Senators. Senior Elizabeth Baughman led the team with 13 kills. She also had 17 digs on defense. The Senators will travel to Newark on Friday to take on #7 Newark Charter.

The match of the night was between #12 St. Georges and #21 Delaware Military. The Hawks sweated out a 5-set victory to advance to play #5 Padua. The 5th set went to extended play and a 19-17 score, the second of the 5 sets to play extra points. Shayla Howell had 38 assists for St. Georges. Kayla Riley led the Hawks with 26 kills.

#13 Appoquinimink advances to play #4 Ursuline after beating #20 Sussex Central in straight sets. Again, some extended set play in this match. The Golden Knights forced the Jaguars to score 28 points in the first set. Alexis Parkinson led the Jags in assists and Jaslyn Dawkins led the team in kills for the evening.

The 11th seeded Concord Raiders advance to play #6 Wilmington Charter as they beat #22 Indian River in 4 sets. Maeve Teaney led the Raiders with 13 kills. Setter Sydney Donatello had 37 assists and Libero Gia Rivera had 30 digs on defense.
