The Smyrna Eagles won the Delaware Middle School Volleyball Championship

Kirah Johnson from the University of Delaware's Volleyball team broke the 400 mark in career kills.

Kate Hines from the Volleyball team was name Delaware Military Academy's Athlete of the Month for October.

Laela Brown scored two goals for Delmar in their 6-1 win over St. Marks. Jordyn Hollamon, Emily Smith, Rylin Nichols, and Kadence Melvin scored the other 4. For the Spartans, Brynn Eiler scored their lone goal.

Wilmington Friends advanced to the semifinal round with their 2-1 win over Caravel. The Bucs struck first on a goal by 8th grader Dina Alayan in the 2nd quarter. Ella Fontanazza tied it in the third, and Sawyer Rowland scored the game-winning goal in the 4th quarter on a penalty stroke.

Lake Forest, the #8 seed, upset the #1 seeded, and previously unbeaten, Patriots of Newark Charter 1-0. The Spartans advance to the semifinal round to take on Wilmington Friends on the lone goal by Junior Rylin McCloskey. Freshman goalie Jessica Lewis had 4 saves to earn the shutout victory.

Tatnall remains undefeated at 9-0 with a 60-13 win over Wilmington Charter. The Hornets put up 57 first-half points. Quinn deViere threw for 4 touchdowns. The Hornets have Christiana, in district, left on the schedule.

Indian River clinched the 1A2 title with their 50-20 win over Conrad. The 8-1 Indians were led by Jayvion Chandler who rushed 105 yards and 2 touchdowns and Darnell Stokes who ran for two TD's and caught 2 TD passes.

Salesianum clinched the 3A1 title as they shutout Hodgson 35-0. Aiden Lego rushed for 105 yards and 1 touchdown for the 8-1 Sals.

Delmar improved to 8-1, 4-0 in 2A3 with a 35-0 win against Milford. Khalid Schoolfield rushed for two touchdowns. The Wildcats have Woodbridge, 7-2, 3-1, as the remaining team on their schedule. That game will determine the District Championship.

Woodbridge came from behing to beat Sussex Tech 29-20 after being shutout in the first half against the Ravens. This was a ground battle between the two teams. Kyle Thompson rushed for 141 yards for Tech and Malachi Hayes ran the ball 23 times for 218 yards and 4 touchdowns for the Blue Raiders.

Ursuline beat Smyrna in a rematch of last year's final in straight sets. Hayley Timmons led the Raiders with 38 assists in the match. Juliette Cummings had 12 kills.
