The Millaway sisters Ellie and Elaina combined for 37 kills and the Kwiatkowski sisters Tess and Maggie combined for 42 assists as the Royals of Delmarva Christian were tested by Indian River needing 5 sets to advance to the quarterfinals.

Newark Charter handled Appoquinimink in straight sets to advance to the quarterfinals. Lila Seiler led the Patriots with 8 kills.

The first quarterfinal is set. Delmarva Christian will play Caesar Rodney and Newark Charter will play St. Marks.




Football

James Collins kicked three field goals, including a 41-yarder, in this defensive struggle won by Salesianum 18-16 over Dover. The Sals need to beat Appoquinimink in their final game to clinch 3A District 1 honors while Dover is now 6-4, but in the playoffs.

The Pennington School of NJ struck first with a touchdown and then Tower Hill ripped off the 50 points to claim victory 50-8. Joshua Hall scored three touchdowns for the Hillers who are now 4-4 for the year.
