Field Hockey

Addison Basile and Callie short each scored twice as Sussex Academy beat Appoquinimink 6-0.

Jillian Vandenbraak and Keira Openheimer both notched a pair of goals for the Bulldogs of Brandywine. They beat their district rival, Mt. Pleasant 5-1.

Dru Moffett assisted on three of Smyrna's 5 goals in the Eagles 5-2 win against Caravel.


Cross Country Ryan Banko finished in second place for Salesianum in the Boy's Varsity F class at the Manhattan College Invitational on Friday. Matt Miller, Mattew Filliben and Michael Toy all finished in the Top 20 to lead the Sals to the overall team victory against schools from NY, NJ, PA, and CT.

Padua was second overall and Tatnall 9th in the Girl's Varsity A division at the same event. Mary Katherine Dorsey from Padua won the race by a full 4 seconds and sophomore Sophia Holgado finished 5th. Geneva Laur was also in the top 20. Tatnall's Katie Payne was 6th and Katrina Endres was the 17th place finisher. Padua also cleaned house in the JV race scoring 31 points in total. The second-place team from Monroe-Woodbury HS in NJ had 75. This great race was held in Van Cortlandt Park.


Football

Mekhi Williams found the end zone three times for Mt. Pleasant as they defeated Concord 35-7 in another Brandywine district matchup. Dahmir Byrd scored two touchdowns; one rushing and one on a fumble recovery.

Conrad's Lenniek Preston scored 4 touchdowns, 2 receiving, one on a punt return and one on a kickoff return. The Red Wolves down Christiana 39-14. Preston had 256 all-purpose yards.

Wilmington Friends beat Glasgow 28-16. Andrew McKenzie rushed for 117 yards and a touchdown for the Quakers. Paul Beardell rushed for 2 touchdowns. Zahbir Goggins scored and ran for 155 yards for the Dragons. First State Military beat Dickinson 43-6 on the Bulldogs homecoming game. The football team becomes the first team to win a homecoming game in their school's five years in existence.



Volleyball

Red Lion beat Delaware Military in straight sets 25-19, 25-15, 25-16. Senior Regan Mendick had 35 assists for the Lions. Eliza Schneider led the team with 13 kills.

St. Marks won the anticipated contest between Newark Charter. Both teams entered the match undefeated and the Spartans came away with a 3-0 win. Mya Lewis and Julia Yurkovich each had 12 kills for St. Marks. Lewis also assisted on 17 points. Isabel Esenyan, the Patriot setter, picked up 18 assists.
