Concord's Julie Keenan recorded her 100th career kill for the Raiders Volleyball team.




Sydney Donatello reached the 500 mark in assists for her career as a setter for the Concord Raiders volleyball team.

Cape Henlopen improves to 7-1 with a 4-0 shutout of Tower Hill. Ohio-bound senior Addy Basile scored three of the Vikings goals to lead them to victory. Cape outshot Tower Hill 34-2 in this contest.

St. Marks beat Sussex Tech 7-0. All-stater Katie Hanich found the back of the Ravens cage 3 times for the Spartans who are 6-1 on the season.

Football



The Quakers needed overtime to fend off a strong Brandywine challenge to the defending champions. Friends wins 38-35 with both teams scoring touchdowns on their first possessions in overtime. Kato Connor kicked a 27-yard game winner. Andrew McKenzie rushed for 108 yards, returned a kickoff for a touchdown and threw for 159 yards and three touchdowns. Brandywine's Crisdon Wright threw one TD. He had 139 Rushing on 24 carries and 3 TD's. He also had an interception and 7 tackles. Jason Hughes had 6 receptions for 90 yards, receiving for 1 TD, and had 2 INTs for the Quakers

St. Elizabeth beat Glasgow 58-22. Senior Gavin Andrews had 4 touchdowns and rushed for over 100 yards for the Vikings who improve their record to 2-2.

Gabe Welsh threw for 4 touchdowns and ran in another for Conrad. The Red Wolves beat St. Andrews 40-21.

Howard beat Lake Forest 38-30. RJ Matthews completed 14-24 passes for 392 yds and 4TD's for the Wildcats. He also rushed 6 times for another score. Jamal Johnson led the team in receiving with 6 catches for 190 yds and 3 TD's. Robert Kelly had 3 catches for 107 yds including the game winning 80-yd TD in the fourth quarter.


Ayden Young had 28 carry's for 130 yds and a TD for the Spartans.

The Delaware Sports Athletes of the Week

Week Ending 9-30-23






McKeevis Rogers from Newark HS had 2 great back-to-back weeks. He scored four of the Yellowjackets touchdowns against Mt. Pleasant and rushed for 267 yards in his previous outing with two more touchdowns.







Bella Walsh from Middletown won the 2023 Salesianum Cross Country Invitational beating out 73 other runners from 10 other schools. She was the only runner to crack the 20-minute mark.






Oscar Lopez-Becerra is the goalie for Hodgson Vo-Tech. He led the Silver Eagles to two shutouts during the week against Red Lion and Brandywine.







St. Andrews Frank Nasta was 16-30 passing for 269 yards, 4 TDs passing, 1 TD rushing and ran in a 2-point conversion in their win over Early College. Right before the season he committed to play football at Macalester College.
