Jodee-Marie Rigor from St. Elizabeth's was named Co-Athlete of the Week for the Vikings. She is on the cross country team and had a season best time.


Spencer Trolio was the other Co-Athlete of the Week for the Vikes. Obviously, from the picture, he is on the soccer team.


Field Hockey




Junior Rachael Whitehead scored two times and Senior Katrina Cattermole had three assists as Tatnall beats their Independent Conference rivals, the Quakers of Wilmington Friends 4-0. This win improves the Hornets record to 10-3 as the Quakers fall to 9-2-1. They split the season series with each other.




Peyton Seel had to make 18 saves for Wilmington Christian to preserve a shutout tie with Conrad. Rubi Wilson only had to face one shot on goal, which she saved, for the Red Wolves.




Football


Above are the unofficial national record holders for touchdowns scored rushing in a game in the US.



Yesterday, St. Elizabeth's Quasim Benson had 8 rushing touchdowns against St. Andrews in a 62-28. All scoring in this game was done in the first three quarters. On Benson's touchdowns, alone, he rushed for 312 yards.


Michael Lilly passed for three touchdowns including 2 to Griffin Patterson for St. Andrews.








Chris Albero rushed for 131 yards on 9 carries and threw for 104 yards.



Ryan VonBrandt threw for two touchdowns and ran for one as the Jaguars beat Hodgson 32-16. Caleb Ellis threw two touchdowns for the Silver Eagles.





Markee Ellerbe scored 4 touchdowns for Newark. The Yellowjackets beat McKean 47-16.





Osi Chukwuocha rushed for 151 yards on 21 carries and caught 3 receptions for 26 yards, adding 3 rushing TDs




Boy's Soccer



Cristofer Torres-Romero had three goals and two assists. Brian Villagomez-Lara also had a hat trick in Delcastle's 8-0 win over Concord. They have outscored their opponents 36-0 in their past 5 games and are now 10-2 on the year.



Volleyball


Meghan Peters had 20 kills and Audrey Lyons 37 assists as the Padua Pandas won a hard-fought match against Delaware Military. Lilian Wentzel led the Seahawks with 15 kills and Delaney Schultz had 26 assists. Just 7 total points separated the teams throughout the entire match.



Abigail Garcia had 10 kills for Archmere as the Auks beat Appoquinimink in straight sets. The Auks are 7-6.



Abbi Carian had 21 kills for Friends in their 3-0 sweep of Tower Hill. Natalie Bush with 33 assists.

Chloe Sachs paced the Hillers with 13 kills.





Angela Steinkrauss had 12 kills for the Patriots of Newark Charter as they get past Caesar Rodney without too much trouble other than in the 3rd set. The Riders needed to see some stiffer, upstate competition to get an idea of what they will likely face early on in the state tournament. The Patriots are 12-2 with just Archmere left on the regular season schedule. CR is 10-4 with Sussex Central, who are 10-3, remaining.
