The Laurel Bulldogs named Carlie Venables as an Athlete of the Week for her recent performances for the Field Hockey team. She scored 5 goals against Delmarva Christian High School last Friday on 10/22/2021 and then she scored 4 goals against Christiana High School on Monday 10/25/2021.
Wilmington Friends tied St. Andrews 1-1 the other day to clinch the DISC Conference Championship in Boy's Soccer for the 4th straight year. Here is a shot of Andrew Rossi submitted from the game taking a free kick. They are 10-1-2 with two games left in the regular season.
Field Hockey
Madison Leeper and Callie Short each had two goals and two assists in the Seahawks win against the Hawks of St. Georges, 7-0.
In a Thursday game, Dover blanked Delmarva Christian 12-0. Alayna Gigliotti had three goals. Jewels Goldman had two goals and an assist and Joslin Cain had two goals.
Football
Wayne Knight had three touchdowns, one a 90-yard reception from Cameron Edge who threw two touchdowns in the game as the Smyrna Eagles beat Salesianum 28-7. Smyrna is now 6-2 and Salesianum is 5-2. Both teams are in Class 3A but in different districts.
Sophomore Daniel McConomy rushed for four touchdowns and Ryan VonBrandt ran for two and passed for one touchdown as the Jaguars of Appoquinimink beat Cape Henlopen Thursday night 55-27. For Cape, Henry D'Ambrogi rushed for one TD and threw two to Chancler Johnson.
Quasim Benson scores four more touchdowns for St. Elizabeth's for a total of 12 in two weeks as the Vikings roll 42-7 over Wilmington Charter. Matt Trout caught two of three touchdowns thrown by quarterback Brett Smick.
Kylse Wilson scored 4 touchdowns and Javier White scored two times in the Laurel Bulldogs 48-6 win over Seaford. Laurel improves to 7-1.

Lillian Madeira had 10 kills and Alexia Fitzgerald had 12 as Appoquinimink beats Conrad 3-1. The Jags finish the regular season 9-6. Conrad 6-9.
