Field Hockey -
Delmar’s Josie Hollaman scored 4 times in a 7-0 win for the Wildcats over Sussex Academy. The Wildcats have won the state championship for the past five years, the first of five was before the state split into two divisions. They have won the first four Division 2 Championships and are currently undefeated at 8-0.
Speaking of undefeated returning state champions, the Vikings of Cape Henlopen improved to 7-0 with a 4-1 victory over Polytech.
Wilmington Charter is also undefeated in Division 1 and Newark Charter is still undefeated in Division 2.
Volleyball – Natalie Bush had 31 assists and Abbi Carian 17 kills as Wilmington Friends swept their conference rival Tower Hill in 3 sets.
Wilmington Charter pulled off a 5-set upset over Padua to totally confuse our volleyball rankings today. Meghan Peters had 20 kills for Padua in the loss. Statistics were not available from Wilmington Charter.
Newark Charter remained undefeated as they took down Ursuline on the Raiders home court 3 sets to 1. Isabel Esenyan dished out 49 assists to lead the evening. Emily Turner and Aubrey Celeste each had 16 kills for the Patriots.
