A pair of Rookies led the charge last week for the Wilmington University cross country and women's tennis teams, as Vaughn Lackman and Carmelle Vial earned Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Rookies of the Week, as announced on Tuesday.









Field Hockey



Adrienne Esterling scored three times and Emersyn Ruggerio had three assists for the Seahawks. Delaware Military rolls over MOT Charter 10-0. The remain undefeated at 7-0.







Delaware's Clash of the Titans was held at Cape Henlopen HS as the reigning D1 and D2 champions squared off as undefeated teams. Maci Bradford started the scoring for Delmar in the first quarter. But Devon DeGregory tied it two minutes later scoring what was just the third goal the Wildcats allowed all year. Jordyn Hollamon scored a go-ahead goal late in the first half. That turned out to be the game winner as both defenses clamped down each other's high-scoring attacks. Morgan Newcomb had 15 saves for the Vikings and Summer Payne had 10 for Delmar.

Peyton Shields had a first-period hat trick as the Riders of Caesar Rodney scored 8 first quarter goals against Mt. Pleasant. They end up with a 14-0 victory over the Green Knights.

Howard QB RJ Matthews was 16-25 for 357yds and 3TD's in Howard's 44-18 win over Hodgson. He also had a rushing touchdown. Kevin Ford led all receivers with 130 yards on 4 catches and scored one TD. Damien Ross scored 2 TD's on 3 catches.

Boy's Soccer




Salesianum hands St. Marks their first loss of the season. Jake Ross scored a hat trick for the Sals as they prevail 6-1.








Ajani Landy and Gabriel Pust each scored a pair of goals for Brandywine. The Bulldogs beat AI duPont 5-0.

Milford blanked Odessa 6-0. Thompson Burke scored three goals and assisted on two others.

Elaina Millaway had 18 kills for the Royals as Delmarva Christian improves to 8-1 with a straight-set victory over Indian River.

Ursuline with an upset victory over DMA to improve to 3-6. Juliana Lenz was credited with 42 digs for the Raiders defense.




Wilmington Friends beat Sanford 3-1. Sr. Quaker Jocelyn Nathan did a lot of everything with 31 assists, 11 digs, 9 kills and 6 aces.

Cape Henlopen had to fight off a Dover Senator team that is better than their 3-5 record indicates. Tatum Friend led the Vikings with 21 kills. Kalista Lawson had 18 of her own. Sr. Megan Smith had 54 assists. Both of these coaches are molding good programs for their players, Eric Riehl for Dover and Tyler Coupe for Cape.

Chloe Sachs and Molly Pietlock each had triple doubles in Kills, Assists, and Digs for Tower Hill. The Hillers remain undefeated at 8-0 as they beat Wilmington Christian in straight set.






Just a couple of days after handing Smyrna their first defeat the Buccaneers of Caravel faced off against Padua who Smyrna had beaten earlier this year. On this day, the Pandas came through with the win, 3-0. Aanya Yatavelli and Mary Mancini led the balanced attack for Padua who are now 3-5. Caravel falls to 6-3.
