Field Hockey
Freshman Alysa McCarthy scored two times in the first of the Vikings two games against Maryland state champions from last year. Cape Henlopen beat Pocomoke, the 1A champion, 5-0.
In the other matchup of 2021 champions, the Delmar Wildcats destroyed the Severna Park Falcons from Maryland 9-1. Seniors, and cousins, Josie Hollamon and Maci Bradford, led the Wildcat attack. Hollamon scored three times and had one assist; Bradford had four goals and one assist. Jordyn Hollamon had one goal and two assists.
Peyton Shields scored two times and notched three assists as Caesar Rodney beat Appoquinimink 7-1. Hannah Glanden also scored twice for the Riders.
McKenzie Camp had a hat trick in the Concord Raiders opener. They take down the Rams of Dickinson 7-0.
Marie Brainard scored two goals for the Force of Wilmington Charter as they win 5-1 over St. Georges Tech.
Freshman Bree Moffett had a hat trick in her first career varsity game for the Smyrna Eagles as they beat Padua 7-0. Regan Nacrelli assisted on three goals in the game.
Football
Jr. Jazonte Levan rushed for 4 touchdowns in Seafords 34-21 win over Tower Hill. He ran for 245 yards on 29 carries for the Bluejays.
