In Delmar's second game of the year and against their second Maryland Divisional State Champion, it was sophomore Jordyn Hollamon's turn to shine as she scored three goals and picked up an assist in the Wildcats 8-0 win over Pocomoke. Josie Hollamon scored two more goals and added an assist and Maci Bradford scored her 5th, 6th, and 7th goals of the young season adding three assists of her own.
Addison Basile and Alexis Truitt each scored twice as the Vikings of Cape Henlopen beat the Severna Park Falcons from Maryland 4-0 in the other state champion battle. Both Delaware teams swept the Maryland Divisional Champions in this two-day event.
Football
Running back Jyaire Townsend had four total touchdowns, three on the ground and one from the air as Newark beats Christiana 48-0.
St. Elizabeth's Quasim Benson picked up where he left off scoring touchdowns last year. He scored four of them in the Vikings 45-6 win against Conrad. Benson had 35 touchdowns in his junior year.
RJ Matthews threw for three touchdowns and rushed for two as Howard runs over Concord 48-0.
Boys Soccer
Jacob Schell scored three goals and Aldo Hernandez-Becerra scored the other two for the Vikings of Cape Henlopen as they beat Sussex Academy 5-0.
Salesianum senior and returning All-American, Jake Ross, scored all three goals in the Sals 3-2 win against Walter Johnson HS from Maryland.
Delaware Military takes first place in the 62nd Lake Forest Cross Country Invitational at Killens Pond.
